eCampers.co.nz has everything you need to get your 4WD Hire sorted and your adventure prepared. With our quick & easy quote system and unbeatable prices, you'll wonder why you've booked a holiday anywhere else.

Beginner's Guide to 4X4 New Zealand

There are so many staggering places to visit in New Zealand. The South Alps that span most of the length of the western side of the South Island are a perfect project for exploration in themselves in your 4WD hire. Some of the best skiing resorts in the world can be found along this chain of mountains and you would be forgiven for forging a trip based purely around hopping from one resort to the next in your hire car.

Film buffs will want to take their 4X4 cars down to Queenstown where much of the Lord of the Rings trilogy was shot, as well as the more recent X-Men: Wolverine film. The stunning panoramas, sweeping vistas and majestic mountains all provide an almost endless number of places to visit. Check out the small town that holds the spot where Boromir dies or head to the North Island to see where battle scenes were filmed in Tongariro National Park.

A visit to Auckland in your 4WD hire will allow you to visit the surrounding geological wonders thrown up from the volcanic field. Alongside dormant volcanoes, lakes, lagoons, cones and depressions pepper the area and make for some spectacular scenery.

For glimpses of wildlife, head off to the Royal Albatross Centre to see magnificent birds only metres away or the even more amazing Penguin Place up on the Otago Peninsula will allow you to observe endangered penguins up close in their natural environment.

Within Fiordland National Park in the Southern Lake District is Milford Sound, a world heritage site that was voted the top travel destination in the world in 2008. Take the 4WD to discover cliffs and waterfalls rising up out of the fjord and sheer faces of mountains that give the area a magical quality.

Introduction To The Maui Platinum Lake 5 Berth

It's a name that could either come from an 80s horror flick or a Molvanian gold mine where one works on their Phaic Tan. Either way, the Platinum Lake 5 Berth from Maui has really got it all. It's got high end amenities, room for a…
